  2. Thanks Alex!!!
This is my first week here, and I’m happy to be in England. To be honest the first’s days are difficult and now I’m not conforming yet. My family is very funny and they like football a lot. My guardian is Raphael and my mum here is Joe, we have one girl in the house and she’s called Cloe. Cloe is swimming all the day because she wants to be a Olympic swimmer. Raphael is a black person and he’s laughing and joking all the day, I think that he’s a lower and a teacher too but I’m not sure. Joe is white person and she’s quieter because she needs to control the situation. She’s a countable and she works every day, and she cooks lovely. About Cloe I can’t say many thinks except she’s appearance and she’s years because I don’t speak with her a lot but she looks nice, so Cloe is thirteen and is a tall girl because she swims every day and has a long back. They’re friendly people, but they believe in Good a lot and they think that the bible is the guide of life. This is correct and I respect it but they want that I’ll feel the same as them and that’s impossible because they believe in other religion. But my parents are working on this aspect. We have a problem with the collage and I’m not in a collage yet, but maybe next week I’ll be able to go at school. My teacher at the moment is Raphael that he helps me in a language and he knows how about do classes with beginners. With the football I’m really surprise because here all is more professional and I’m feeling older than in Spain with the soccer. I’m training all the days about three hours in the afternoon and Wednesdays I train all the day so I’m in top shape. The food is good but is better the Spanish food, of course!!! And this is my first week here, the next weeks I’ll be able give more detail of the days but this text explains more the situation and the family. Thanks for read the text. I hope that in Spain all goes good as well.
Regards from England, see you next week ;)

  3. Hello there,
I'm thrilled you're enjoying your stay in England and that things are going quite smoothly. It seems to me you have just adapted very well. it's unfortunate you haven't got a school yet because you would have met lots of new friends and you would have already started to experience British school life.
Your letter is quite long and very thorough which tells me you have already improved a lot and feel confortable writing in English.
Life here is as usual. Now, I'm in Flexible 7 -your old class- and while your classmates are completing some exercises I'm writing this. They are quite concentrated, even some of your old buddies.
I'm quite looking forward to hear more news from you. It's a very exciting experience for you and I hope you learn a lot.
Best regards from sunny l'Ametlla del Vallès!!

  4. My second week here!
    Hi Alex.
The last week I said to you that I wasn’t adapt yet, but this week the situation is different and I’m perfect here. I have a nice week, except that I started the school. Monday we agreed with the collage that I just do English, so I go to school and I’m doing English all the time. I think that this is better for me because I not will stay in the school much time considering that in two weeks we have one holiday week, so maybe I will stay in the school about one month. This aspect is resolved so I’m happier than one week ago.
With football it’s all okay, this week I trained three days because Monday was local holidays. I meet with my mum’s family in Monday because it was grand mum’s birthday and we had a little party in the house, a lot of cakes and a lot of food, so I’m not in top shape yet, I need five days of football, or not more parties. It was fantastic because I meet the cousins and the uncles and to be honest they don’t look like English persons so they are very funny. The cousins are girls and they are very pretty but I haven’t lucky so they are sixteen and twenty. The uncle’s family have a hot car, Porsche, so they are the perfect girls, but I’m not worried because I’m here for more weeks!
Saturday I went to Stoke because I have a match against Stoke City. To be honest the experience was great and I spent a good time with my mates. The match was interesting because they were a premier team, so they had good level, but I think that my team here is better than my team in Barcelona so we won 4-2. It was a preparatory match, because next week we will play against Chelsea, I hope all goes well and I’ll be able play the match.
With the family I go step by step but we can’t resolve the religion aspect because I have to keep going to the church, but the rest its ok and I’m improving with English. This Sunday I went to London, with Raphael to watch a premier match: Tottenham vs Aston villa. Good experience for me because you know that I love football. So that was my week, the truth is that I’m good here but I miss l’Ametlla, my house, my parents, my friends, and my classes, but there is one aspect that I miss a lot: THE SUN. Best regard from England, I hope that the class goes well.
    See you next week Alex
I wanted to attach you some pictures to demostrate that I'm like a boss but its not possible,

  5. Hello Sergi,
It's so awesome that you have adapted so well so quickly. Impressive! You're a very open sociable person and that fact surely helps you made a smooth transition.
It's definitely a pity you can upload pictures. How do we know you are really there? You could be in your house in l'Ametlla, laughing your heart out at us and playing video games all day. But then you wouldn't be improving your Englsih so much and writing such long letters.
Life here is as always although not much sun these last days, the weather has been moody and unpredictable. Partially, this is good so students are better in class and don't sweat much. Your Flex 7 class is doing fine and you're missed.
Don't worry too much about your family's religion situation. If you had to stay for a year it would be a much bigger problem but you're there for a much shorter time. When you are in church, just behave and maybe learn the songs; so you'll have something to do ;))
Be on the lookout for the Comenius mail about Italy. It will be soon, unfortunately, I'm not sure when yet. It might be before the end of May. As you are still our student, you are elegible.
Enjoy everything that's happening to you and keep up the good work and your positive spirit.
    Best regards,
    Àlex

  6. Hi Alex!!
I think that this is my third week here but I’m so near to my first month, so I explain to you all together, the next week will be the fifth week.
I’m so exciting with my school, and I have some friends because you know that I’m a little bid friendly. In the school I wear a uniform that in the logo has a big S considering that I go to Stantonbury school, difficult to pronounce but so nice as well. It is bigger than Xammar and it has approximate four halls, so I’m a little bid disoriented because when we change the class maybe you have to go to the other extreme and here is different to Alex’s class because you must to be punctual. So I really like the school and we have a lot of countryside in the gardens, where we can relax, enjoy, play... I’m improving in English and I think that if I work like I worked in your classes maybe I will have good English level and we’ll be able to talk between us, and nobody will know what we are talking, I’m joking of course, but it’s amazing for me to know one language that one month ago was my bad dream. In summary I like my new school because is a new experience and a new people but they are so strict and I’m so lucky to stay here only for one month more.
In football we have a one week holiday now, and the next weekend I going to play against Southampton, premier league team, so that’s funny and we want to win because one week ago we lost against Chelsea. I’m improving in football too, because they are too big and too strong so that’s difficult to play against them. Sometimes when I don’t have training I go to the lake in Milton Keynes and I do some exercise to keep my shape. But now I need a earphones to listen music because if I don’t have music is so boring.
Yesterday My father came here because I wasn’t very happy considering that I’m perfect here in this family because I have all my necessities but often is not good enough because I don’t go anywhere, and here in Milton Keynes there are lot of places to go and London is another place but I don’t go to this places yet, so my father came because he wanted that I could look London, and to talk with my family to say that we are not happy with this aspect. So we went to London and we were like tourists, now I know the more important thinks in the capital. The next weekend my dad and my mum will come here to stay more time, maybe four days, and to look that I’m improving. So in conclusion I’m here so well but we need to change or improve some aspects.
I hope that all goes well.
See you next week, enjoy the classes.
    Regards from England

  7. Hi alex!
1 more week here and I am in the last month.
I think that this was an especial week here because my parents stayed with me one weekend, well more than one weekend approximated 4 days. I spend a great time with them but I want to start to the first day.
Wednesday I went to school instead of go to the training because you know that I have two weeks to relax. I am improving in my listening because the gays talk very fast, so I need it. The second think that I want to explain to you is that I started to talk with my mates with the phone, and now I know more of her contractions, and that’s better, no for Alex’s class I know. In the school always I behave well but to be honest the teachers aren’t too strict as I thought. Now that I am in the school the days are shorter, and that’s good but I am little bit tired. My friends are basically from England but I have more than one that is from India or Holland... the girls are likable with me and they ask to me all the time because I am new and I am The Spanish. I like it, but not with all the girls.
Two weeks ago I was thinking how many weeks rested to return to Spain but now I miss my country but I like England for stay more time, no for live. This experience is good because now I think different and I know how to behave in a lot of situations and that’s fine.
And know I’ll explain to you the important aspect. My parents arrived here half pas ten on Thursday, and Raphael and me went to the Luton’s airport to bring them to our house. In the same day my parents and me went to the train station in Milton Keynes and we went to London. We were in a hotel near to the Victoria’s train station so we were connected with all the places. I liked it because my mum and me were to the shopping centers whereas my dad was in a planes museum. I bought some things and I spend a great time with my real family.
I want, if is possible that you answer me. I am happy here, I hope all goes well. Regard to all my mates, and my girls hahaha. See you next week teacher.

  8. Hello Sergi,
I'm thrilled that things are running smoothly for you and you are finding this experience a great one.The fact that you are adapting so well says a lot about you and your character.
I met your mum last Thursday evening. Parents were invited to attend a meeting about ESO 4 curriculum and your mother came. I talked to her a bit. I told her you kept your promise of writing weekly and that your command of English is effectively improving. She explained to me that they (her and your dad) had been there to visit you.
Life at school is a bit like always although things are getting a bit rougher at the end of the school year. There are only four more days of standard classes and then next Friday, 6th June, we start our "Treball de Síntesi". It's all happening in a rush.
Keep paying attention to your school mates' way of talking. It's the one experience you won't get when you're back here. It doesn't matter much if you miss a lot of what they say, you're practising your listening skill and that is priceless. It will also be helpful for your pronunciation.
I'm not sure when you are coming back. Is it in July? Pere told me something but I forgot.
Looking forward to your next letter...
    Best regards,
    Àlex

  9. Yes Alex on more week here!
This was an ordinary week, to improve my English and enjoy with my mates and with my family.
First of all I had one week holiday so I wasn’t very busy last week and I could sleep proper and enjoy relaxing in the house. The question is that this family is always working and they want to relax the weekends, so I don’t go to many places and that’s disgusting for me because I am in a new country near to London and I should to visit it. The only good aspect is that I know London because my parents came the last week and we stayed in the capital. So London is watched but there are many things to do whereas I am here and it’s bored to stay always in my room, but my parents talked with them and they are doing more trips. For example I went to Wembley last Friday to watch England-Peru and I saw the best stadium in the world, in my opinion. I bought one England t-shirt and that was amazing. It was a great day doing what I like to do. I am sure that now I know all the underground lines in London, sometimes I dream this: ¨this is Victoria line you can stop here to change to jubilee line, this is London underground...¨ in the school I am doing as well as I can so I am learning a lot. I have some friends and I met one Spanish girl called Maria and she’s very beautiful to be honest. The football will finish this next week so I don’t know what I will have to do in the afternoons, maybe I will do a extra time in school, doing some exercise like swimming or boxing etc. The teachers are amazing they are behaving with me very well and that’s a good thing because I am more adapted in this aspect. Now I have to meet with friends more but in Milton Keynes it’s difficult because you have to go at all the places with car. The weather is not nice at the moment but we have to wait I think, one or two weeks more or less. Respect your questions I think that I’ll come back to Spain at the ending of June or the firths days of July; I don’t have the tickets yet. I am good enough here because I have the friends and the school and it’s so nice to stay all the day together but to be honest if the aspect was the family I will come back tomorrow, it’s a little bit disgusting. But now I am looking at myself and I am improving at English and I have the possibility to stay here 20 days more, but for what happened I prefer to come back as soon as possible.
Thank you Alex. I miss my lovely country. See you next week
    Regards from MK.

    1. Hello Sergi,
We have just finished regular classes. The "Treball de Síntesi" starts tomorrow, although it's a bit strange to start it on a Friday instead of on a Monday, but next Monday is a holiday...Great!
I've already completed intrdoducing my students grades in the system, everyone has been graded including you! And since you are keeping your end of the bargain and writing a lot on a weekly basis, I'll ,evidently, will keep mine.
In spite of the fact that you still make some mistakes in your writings/letters, you have accomplished a remarkable command of the language in such short time. It's easy to follow what you try to say and you spare no details or information, which tells me that your confidence in your ability to express yourself is certainly consolidating.
It's quite amazing that you believe you already know all London tube lines... so funny. That can certainly come handy next year when we all visit London at the end of ESO 4.
When you're back here, it will be really interesting to hear you tell us more about your English teachers and what they have you do, and your experiences in your Englsih school.
I'll be working all June at school and also some days in July to finish up with the year level coordination paperwork. Pop in by the school when you're back, it'll be good to see you again.
      Many regards,
      Àlex

    2. One more week here!
This week Alex was perfect and now I want to stay here for more time but I know that my live is in Barcelona and I have to go back.
First I am going to explain to you that yesterday was a terrible day because the football. I don’t know why Spain lost 5-1 and playing bad as well, but the horrible thing was ¨the friends¨. They are so funny joking with myself, saying that Spain is the worst team in the world, but I am calm because today England plays against Italy and they gonna lose. Then I am lucky because there is one more Spanish person here, she is a girl and she’s from Galicia, so the joke’s focus is not only me. This girl is making my way easier and is helping to me to get more confidence, she’s nice but she’s older so is can’t try it, do you know what I’m saying? Well anyway I am in my last 15 day so I have to enjoy my time here. I only want to return because the weather. Here is so bad and since one week that is always running. I think that is because the school said that we can wear summer uniform from now to the ending of the season. I know that in Spain the sun is shining and you have 38 degrees, good summer. In the school we have more relaxing time than in Barcelona but sometimes is very busy because is very big. They finish at the ending of July so I will not stay here in these days. This week I went to a karting circuit with my mates, and to the cinema as well, I am watching a lot of movies to improve and I think this is the best way to learn. Now I watch how I met your mother, it’s very funny, so instead of friends you can put this in our classes. My parents are really excited and they want me now, but these days are difficult because you think too much, but I think that is normal there are people that I’ll not see anymore and that make me a little bit unhappy. But thinking in the right way I know that I don’t have to waste my time. Now with the world cup the country is very excited and they think positive about their team. I think that is one of the differences between England and Spain, they are always thinking well they defend their nation and they always walk together, in the same way.
About my football now, every lunch time I go with my friends to the countryside inside Stantonbury campus and we play football, but is different is only play to have a good time and try to do new things. It’s amazing the size of the playground and it’s all with natural grass, they have a good weather for the natural things, but it still surprising me.
I know that I make mistakes but you are here to correct me. The important thing is that I have a live here and maybe one day I can return without problems to enjoy the UK. London is very beautiful. Sometimes the new experiences are the best. I know that you are missing me! In 15 days: Bye England Hi Spain again. I am in contact with my parents for the Comenius I want to go to Italy; I think that they are trying to follow your instructions hahaha!
      Regards from England
      See you in 15 days!
